The Highland Lakes Women’s Club consists of a diverse group of women from the Highland Lakes neighborhood in the northeast area of Shelby county in Birmingham.
Our club holds 4 general meetings a year in the following months: October, December, February, and April.
Our goals are both social and community driven. Socially the club’s goals are to be the vehicle for old and new residence to meet and find common interest. Community driven goals are club nominated needs that assist the Highland Lakes area or the surrounding community. A list of these activities are listed in the link below.
Annual dues are $20.00 a year and are due before the club’s first meeting in October. Please consider attending a meeting soon. Highland Lakes Women’s Club is a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and new friends, and make a difference in the community.

PROGRAM: Christie Dedman Consumer Columnist/Blogger Birmingham's Own Bargain Mom
It is a delight to announce the speaker/guest for our February Meeting, Christie Dedman, Birmingham's Bargain Mom.
Christie has been with the Birmingham News for 14 years. She is The News' Birmingham Bargain Mom consumer blogger and columinst, as well as The Birmingham News' Webteam Social Media Specialist. Christie has three money saving columns that appear in The Birmingham News and The Birmingham News' Extra each week. She is featured bi-weekly on WBRC - Fox 6 and weekly on Birmingham's Magic 96.5 morning show.
The Birmingham native has a bachelor's in political science and journalism from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Outside her job of finding deals, bargains, frugal recipes, crafts and freebies and teaching couponing classes, she enjoys time with her husband and three children ages 6, 5, and almost 4!!!
